Bird Banter for GDP#115

Today I am sharing a sneak peek at one of the new stamps sets that will be released January 2018. Bird Banter is so very cute! You will love the many different ways you can use this set.

Did you know birds are high maintenance pets? They need fresh food, water and interaction every day. Just like all pets!  We have neighbors who own birds and when they travel they have called upon us to pet sit or just stop in and talk to the birds – they get lonely for a human voice.

GDP#115 challenge this week is Christmas Joy.

I thought Bird Banter would make a joyful, funny Christmas card for our friends.

What do you think? Is this joyful enough? I know it will bring a smile and a laugh.

The tree branch is from Best Birds and the ornaments are from Carols of Christmas. It is fun to combine sets to create unique cards. Creating cards is one of the best jobs I have ever had!

I know this set will be a big seller from the new catalog. Put it on your wish list today.

Thanks for stopping by today. Happy Stamping!

Peace on Earth

A couple of weeks ago a fellow demonstrator came over and we had a Stampin’ marathon. We were both happy to get caught up on some stamping as well as a lot of fun family news. Having ME time is so rare and we both thoroughly enjoyed every minute. My goal that day was 15 cards – I made 18!!! Yippee.

This is one of the cards LeAnne shared with me and we made it at our Christmas class this past week. Everyone liked the colors and simplicity of the card. That is always a good thing, simple yet pretty.

Check out my class schedule and you can join us in making some simple yet pretty Christmas cards. I have one more Christmas class scheduled before the end of the year.

Thanks for stopping by today. Happy Stamping!

Peace on Earth

Today I am sharing another color challenge card I created a few weeks ago. Whenever I get in a rut or can’t make up mind what to create I either look for color ideas or sketch ideas. That gives me a starting point and then I can start working. If you need help jumpstarting your stamping mojo give this a try…it really works!

Here is the color palette I started with:

And here is my card:

It came out pretty close to what I saw in my mind.

Tips & Tricks

Here are a few tips to create this card:

  • I used the moon and stars thinlit at the top of the Tranquil Tide cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″) using the Big Shot, then I mounted it on a Soft Sky cardstock base: 4-1/4″ x 11″

  • The greeting was stamped onto a piece of Whisper White scrap cardstock and die cut using the Circle Framelits. I used the scallop framelit to cut Cherry Cobbler then mounted the sentiment on the Cherry Cobbler piece.

  • The ribbon is the New Shimmer Ribbon in Powder Pink.

  • The frosted trees are die cut from Pink Pirouette cardstock and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. Then they are offset to give the glimmer trees a pink shadow.

  • The snow is the Seaside Embossing folder coated with Wink of Stella to give it a pretty shine.

Carols of Christmas stamp set is an early release from the upcoming Holiday Catalog. That means you can order this stamp set and framelit set now! If you like to get an early start on your holiday card making then this set should give you a huge head start. It makes cards with a WOW factor for sure.

I hope this will inspire you to try some new colors or ideas….stretch that imagination.

Thanks for visiting today.
