Dragonfly Garden

I am popping in today with a simple yet stunning card for you. I like the Dandy Garden suite but thought I would try to brighten up this set with some brighter colors.

The Oh So Ombre paper was my starting point.  Blackberry Bliss, Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay, and  Rococo Rose work well for some spring cards.

I ended up making one in each color. Oh So Ombre Designer Series paper makes this dragonfly pop. Which one is your favorite?

Stamptastic Friends Share Box Frames

It is time for the Stamptastic Friends to hop around the globe. (Or at least 2 continents.)

Our theme this month is a Box Framed project.

Creating home décor projects are always a fun challenge. Fir me it needs to be a small item as we have downsized and don’t have much storage space. Luckily, I had a 9”x9” frame that I did not use last year and that was the perfect size. Now for the hard part, deciding what to create!

I knew I wanted a new Christmas décor item, so I pulled out the beautiful Poinsettia Place products.

Poinsettia Petals

The entire Poinsettia Suite is stunning. Amazing paper and a very versatile stamp set and dies that create 3D flowers. Everything you need to make lovely cards and other projects.

I kept the design simple so the large poinsettia could be the main focal point. I love the simplicity.

Thanks for joining us on our monthly hop. Make sure you hop on to the next link in the list below.

Step Front Box Cards and Paper Sale

I decided to try a new fun fold card, a Step Front Box Card or a step card.

The first one I did was hard! Of course, I used retired paper and scraps to make a mock-up card. After that it was easy peasy.

This simple card makes the most elegant card for most any occasion. Use some beautiful Designer Series Paper as your start and watch the card design evolve.

gilded autumn

For this card I was inspired by the gorgeous the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper.

  • Start with a Very Vanilla card base.
  • Cut the DSP 5 ¼” x 4”
  • Cut a piece of Mint Macaron the same size.
  • Measure up 2 ½” on the right side and 2 ½” on bottom edge. Mark with a pencil.
  • Use your paper trimmer to cut on the diagonal between the pencil marks.
  • Turn the top piece in the trimmer and trim off ¾” piece. Save this for the inside of your card.
  • Adhere the small triangle to the Mint Macaron piece (lower right-hand side).
  • Use trimmer and cut the Mint Macaron piece leaving a slim edge to show.
  • Adhere the larger piece to the remaining Mint Macaron piece. Cut the same way leaving the slim edge.
  • Lay the pieces on card front and mark where you want the sentiment stamped
  • Stamp sentiment.
  • Mount both pieces on card base using dimensionals. Embellish as desired.
  • Stamp inside and add the saved DSP strip.

I love the simple elegance of this card. I am sure I will be this design again.

Country Club for Freshly Made Sketches

I decided to try the Freshly Made Sketches #431 card sketch today. I liked the different layout, so I got busy chopping paper.

FMS 431After tossing out several pieces of cards and different designs I finally settled on using Country Club Suite.

The base of this card is Garden Green layered with the Country Club Designer Series paper. The Whisper White panel has some faint clouds in the sky stamped with Pool Party. Then it was embossed with the Subtle embossing folder. I love the slight texture this folder creates. The golfer is colored with Stampin’ Blends and die cut. The sentiment is popped up for some fun layering. A nice easy card for your favorite golfer.

Masculine cards tend to stump me, but I am incredibly happy with this one. Let’s hope I can find a golfer who would enjoy getting a birthday card.

If you have been waiting on some of the backordered dies they are back in stock! Get yours before they sell out again.
