Waste Not-Want Not

Hello Friends. Are you a paper hoarder  or are you frugal? Do you save even the tiniest scrap of paper thinking you just might use it someday?

I will keep very last scrap of paper I love and sometimes I even use it!

I had a bunch of scraps of the Gingham Gala DSP and decided to use them up to create some colorful cards.

The Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper has been a huge seller in the 2019 Occasions Catalog. It has been on back-order but will be back in stock February 18th. Be on the look out as it may sell out again.

I always enjoy hearing from you! Please leave me your questions or comments about the project for today.

Happy Stamping!

Spring Color Combo for SUBA Blog Hop

I can’t believe another month has passed us by and it is time for a SUBA Blog Hop. Time sure does fly!

This month we voted to focus on Spring Colors. I enjoy making cards with soft spring like colors. For my clothing I wear bright and bold colors but most of my cards tend to be pastels or mid tone. Wonder why?? What is your favorite combo for card crafting? I would like to hear your ideas so I can expand my color themes.

Here is my card:

Vibrant Vases Stampin' Up

Of course, I had to make more than one card. I like to have a stash of cards to send as needed.

Vibrant Vases Stampin' Up

Love the sentiment on this card.

Vibrant Vases Stampin' Up

This tiny vase and flowers are part of a new set, Vibrant Vases. (2019 Occasions Catalog) This new stamp set uses the same punch as the Varied Vases set. You get double use from one punch!

hexagon Box Stampin' Up

I also created a sweet little box using the same colors. This Window Box can hold a pretty bar of scented soap, a piece of jewelry or even a gift card. I love to give small treats to my friends that are not so expensive. This box full of chocolates would be perfect.

Make sure you hop on to Katy. Leave her some love as this is her first time hopping with us!

I always enjoy hearing from you! Please leave me your questions or comments about the project for today.

Happy Stamping!

Two For the Price of One – Paper Players 428

Hello Friends. I have two fun cards to share with you today. Same card in two totally different color schemes.

A few weeks ago, I taught a Beginning Stamping class and we created this lovely card. I think blue and yellow combinations are some of my favorite. This card is so bright and cheery and makes me long for spring.

#simplestamping. Beauty Abounds

Then I saw the Paper Players #428 color challenge:

paper players

Here is the same card but different colors. I LOVE the difference and the colors just pop on this card.

Beauty abounds paper players stampin' up

(sorry the gingham ribbon is retired)

Changed the sentiment…

Which one is your favorite, Balmy Blue & Daffodil Delight or Melon Mambo and Smoky Slate? Inquiring minds want to know.

I always enjoy hearing from you! Please leave me your questions or comments about the project for today.

Tea Time for TGIFC #198

You know I love a challenge. Participating in sketches or color challenges helps me be more creative. Color challenges encourage me to try colors I may not have ever thought to put together.

TGIFC198

TGIFC198 sketch this week was probably created with Valentine’s Day in mind since it has hearts on it! Having already finished my Valentine cards I went a different direction.

Tea Together Stampin' Up!

Replacing the hearts with a tea cup and a flower stayed true to the sketch yet removed the Valentine theme. I loved the way it turned out and will be creating this this same card in some other color combinations.  Wonder what it will look like in blue??

Rainbow Butterflies

Happy Wednesday! I have a quick post today sharing a bright and colorful card.  It seems like rainbow themed cards are very trendy right now and I decided to join in.

Butterfly Beauty

I used the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Die to cut one set of butterflies from Whisper White Cardstock. To create the rainbow colors I used daubers to color each butterfly. I like the way the bright colors pop on the black background. It would be easy to make several of these cards and leave the sentiment to be added later. I am all for being prepared with cards for all occasions.

That’s all for today. I have a busy day ahead.

Wood You Be My Valentine? PP427

I held a Valentine card class a few weeks ago and this masculine Valentine was a huge hit. Everyone loved the colors and use of Wood Textures DSP. I’m sort of smitten with it also.

Wood textures stampin' up!

To create this card, you die cut two larger hearts from Wood Textures DSP and one Night of Navy heart. The card base is Crumb Cake covered with a 2” side strip of Night of Navy and a 5 7/8” x 3” piece of DSP. Make sure you use a variety of the wood texture paper. The “love” is die cut from Crumb Cake. Stamp the tint heart with Night of Navy and dies cut. I embellished the hearts with Heart Epoxy Droplets. I colored on heart with a blends market and left one heart clear as it was already on Navy card stock.

Super easy and super sweet card.
