Stamptastic Friends Go Masculine

stamptastic friends

The Stamptastic Friends are sharing masculine cards this month. We are a group of stampers who met at a Stamp Retreat and we love to share our ideas with you. Come along and hop with us!

I have been slightly obsessed with scrappy herringbone cards. Using masculine Designer Series Paper and a guy stamp set equals great masculine cards. In the past week I have made at least 6 of this type of card. It is such a fab way to use up scraps of pretty paper. Trust me I have tons pf pretty paper!

My first card uses the Country Club Suite. Sadly, this set is on the Last Chance list. If you want any of these products order soon as many items are selling out.

To create the background, you cut your paper in ¼” strips. Create a base and start laying your strips. Start in the middle with one long strip placed at an angle. From there you build out in rows of three. Totally fun technique.

I hope you will give this technique a try. I did a short Facebook Live explaining how this works. Pop over to check it out.

Hop on to the next Stamptastic Friend.  I am sure her projects will be lovely.

Good New, Bad News

Good News: It is that time of the year when we get excited about a New Annual Catalog being released.

Bad News: We have to say good-bye to the retiring In-Colors.

2018-2020 InColors

I have loved creating with the 2018-2020 In-Colors. Blueberry Bushel is such a beautiful blue and Lovely Lipstick is a great red. I will certainly miss all these colors.

Today I got out all 5 colors and made some quick & simple cards using the Beauty Abounds stamp set. The bubbles from this set are so cool. One single stamp gives you all the variations in color with one impression. Add your sentiment and your card is finished.

Stamptastic Friends Share Favourite Colours

Today I am being very British and sharing cards created with my favourite colours. Yes, the Stamptastic Friends are hopping again and now that we are moved and settled in at our new home, I finally found time to create some much-needed cards.

 My three favourite colours:

Honestly, Coastal Cabana is my favourite colour ever. I hope it never retires!

I created a card that would be versatile for several occasions. Just change the sentiment and change the colours depending on the occasion.

This was such an easy card to make that I made 6 of them. 4 Thinking of You and 2 Sympathy.

During this stressful time, I have been sending more cards than usual. We cannot visit our family & friends in person, but we can certainly send paper hugs. I have been receiving about 2-3 cards a day from friends and it makes me so happy! Just going to the mailbox and seeing happy mail makes me smile and cheers my husband up also. How many cards are you sending? I hope you will consider sending those beautiful creations.

Make sure you hop on to the next Stamptastic Friend. You will be inspired by so many colour choices.

Thanks for stopping by today. Stay safe.

Bright Butterflies for Global Design Project

Today finds me sharing another project for the Global Design Project. This week the challenge is CASE the designer.  Janneke de Jong is one of my favorite card crafters. She makes stunning and interesting cards.

I was inspired by her color choice as well as the Stitched Label. Yellow is such a happy color – so bright and sunshiny. Just what I needed for inspiration.

I also decided to give some love to stamps and die sets that have been overlooked in the Annual Catalog.

These butterflies are beautiful. I need to use them more often.

See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper worked magic to create the butterfly colors. Each card came out different yet pretty. The rhinestones were colored with a Night of Navy Blends.

A Grand Adventure

Most graduation ceremonies have been canceled or rescheduled all over the country. That does not keep us from celebrating all these fabulous young people. This card was created for a young man from our church who is going into the Air Force.

I thought the airplane flying into the future was a good image for these uncertain times. I do have to give credit to a team member who suggested this idea when I asked for suggestions. Thanks Sue!

Air Force will be a grand adventure and we certainly wish him all good things.

The Clearance Rack has been updated. Check out all the bargains. I especially love the dies and papers that are on sale.

Have you been stamping at home and miss your stamping friends? I have an online Zoom class planned for the first week of May. Positive Thoughts will be just right for our first virtual class. Details will be posted soon.

Stamptastic Friends Sampler Creations

It is hard to believe that a month has gone by and the Stamptastic Friends are hopping again.

Time flies when you are having stamping fun!

Our theme this month is Samplers. I know you are going to love the variety of styles and samples we have created for you.

The main reason I have been absent from blogging is we are in the process of buying and selling a house. Talk about chaos. It has been a whirlwind of travel and activity.

We finally found a home we both love, and it has a beautiful craft studio for me. I decided to make a sampler to adorn the wall over my desk.

I used the Parisian Blossoms Suite for this 9” x 9” sampler. I also used the new Stitched So Sweetly Dies to cut the DSP pieces. I love the option of shapes and sizes this die set offers.

Parisian Blossoms Bundle

The Eiffel Tower is die cut from Champagne Foil as is the Fleur-de-lis. I love the way this came out, flirty and fun. Just what I wanted for my new studio.

Now that we are getting our house projects settled, I plan to get back to business! Fingers crossed everything goes well.

Want more inspiration? Make sure to hop on to the nest name on the list. Leave a comment, we enjoy knowing what you think about our creations.
