Fancy Folds for Paper Craft Crew #304

Fancy folds are some of my favorite cards to create. Who doesn’t love getting a unique, fun card in the mail? Paper Craft Crew had a fancy fold challenge this week, so I decided to join in.

PCC304

This card is not only a fancy fold it is also very feminine. I bet a sweet little girl would enjoy getting this or maybe an elegant lady who loves pinks and lavenders. I bet I can find someone who would enjoy receiving this in their mailbox.

Delicate Lace Edgelits Stampin' Up Ginny Harrell PCC#304

Petal Promenade DSP has two pages with printed boarder shapes. I started with one of the squares and started layering die cuts and ribbon. I love the pink and purple combination.

Have you noticed these Delicate Lace Edgelits in the catalog? They are easy to overlook. Check them out on page 217.They make quite a statement on your card.

Here is the inside of the card. I think it needs some flowers added to the inside.  What do you think?

Hanging Garden for GDP152

I always enjoy the Global Design Project Challenges. This week it is a CASE the designer challenge. The GDP152 challenge is to CASE Janneke de Jong from the Netherlands. She has such a unique and yet simple style.

GDP152

Isn’t her card beautiful??

I chose to go with the layout (sort of) and the colors. Gorgeous Grape is my favorite new color this year – so far! I think Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather are both beautiful shades of purple. I had been waiting and wishing for pretty purples! Stamping Up! has really hit the mark with their new colors this year.

Tips for this card:

Colorful Seasons Bundle -The larger purple die cut is from the Colorful Seasons Bundle. This bundle is only available during the month of August. The three stitched label die cuts are perfect for layering.

Stitched Shapes Framelits – The best framelits ever. You can use these for so many card designs.

Bakers Twine– Added to hanging basket adds interest and texture.

Follow Your Dreams for Freshly Made Sketches #350

Happy Monday Stampers! Today I am sharing a card I created for Freshly Made Sketches #350. I used Follow Your Dreams for this sketch. I absolutely love this stamp set…even though it is not my traditional flowery, pretty, sweet stamp set. I do tend to go for flowers or landscape sets but this one really has intrigued me for some reason.

Here is the Freshly Made Sketch:

FMS #350

Nice and simple!

Here is my card:

I layered several colors on the dream catcher and added some pearls for accent on the feathers.  Of course, I had to use some of my favorite colors on this Follow Your Dreams card: Mint Macaron, Calypso Coral, and Soft Suede! A match made in heaven.

It is almost impossible to photograph glimmer and shine, but I used a new product that is in the upcoming Holiday Catalog – Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint. You may remember shimmer paint from a few years ago when we carried Frost White and Champagne. This paint is so yummy. Mix it with rubbing alcohol in a Spritzer and spray it on your project. It adds a subtle amount of shine without the issues glitter can cause. Love this look!
