The weather was sunny Monday so we took advantage of the little bit of sunshine and went back to the Pere Lachaise Cemetery. Lovely mums lined the entrance walk. We stopped by most of the “famous but dead” sites.
Jim Morrison
Oscar Wilde
They had to put up a plexiglass wall to keep people from “kissing” the monument.
Heloise and Abelard, Oldest Residents in Pere Lachaise
Frederic Chopin (1810-1849) This place had the most flowers of all and we saw people bringing more remembrances as we were leaving.
Edith Piaf (1915-1963)
I took a lot of pictures of the family mausoleums. Each door is unique.
I thought of these as Doors to Eternity.
I hope you have enjoyed the tour of Pere Lachaise Cemetery. This cemetery is the most visited cemetery in the world…according to the Internet… so I know it is true.
