My First Post!

I have been working on this new blog for several days and finally had time to create my first post! I decided Beate’s weekend challenge would be a great place to start. I liked this layout so much that I made 2 cards J

The first one is a non-traditional Christmas card, but I do love pink for Christmas. I used an old stand-by, Lovely as a Tree. I stamped it with grey ink first and then stamped it with my glue pad and sprinkled pink glitter on it. I also lined the edges of the image with glue and added some glitter. The paper is Basic Grey from the Sugared Collection. I added some glitter to the center of the flowers to tie it all together.

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree and Snow Swirled – Stampin’ Up

Paper: Basic Grey Sugared and SU

Ink: SU Grey and Essential Glue Pad

Accessories: Ribbon (unknown)

My second card uses a stamp from Our Daily Bread. I saw this stamp set and it was a must have. It is so elegant. The paper is Basic Grey (again). This is an older pattern called Silk Necktie. I used my gel pens to glitter it up because I thought it was sort of dark. The funky fiber is some I have had forever and thought it might add some texture to the card. I also added some small rhinestones to the king’s turbans. I am not sure you can see them though.

Stamps: We Three Kings – Our Daily Bread

Paper: Basic Grey Silk Necktie and SU

Ink: Palette Noir and SU markers and gel pens

Accessories: Gold fiber (unknown)
