Spring Flowers are on the Way

Happy Saturday Stampers! The weather has been so pretty here that I have wanted to start working in the yard. I know it is too early to think about planting flowers but I can at least make flower cards while I am thinking about new flowers in the yard. What are your plans for spring gardening?

This technique is one of my favorites. It really creates a pretty card without a lot of work. Start with a scrap of cardstock that is the size of your card front. I usually use 5 ¼” x 4”. Die cut a circle using a framelit or punch if you have one large enough. This piece will be your stencil/mask.

Sponge Brayers Rock

Place the mask over your card front and hold it in place with washi tape or post-it notes. Use the sponge brayers to add the ink colors of choice. The colors on this card are Bermuda Bay and Lemon Lime Twist. Remove the mask and stamp your images.

Black ink and bright colors are always a good mix.

I think black or dark brown ink really makes cards like this pop. Having an image drop outside the circle gives your card interest and movement.

Now you are ready to assemble your card and add embellishments.
