En Route & Enjoy Life for Freshly Made Sketches#342

Happy Monday Stamping Friends!

Did you get in a stamp time this weekend? I had a very productive day yesterday. That means I will be sharing some new creations this week.

Today I am participating in a Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. This sketch is simple yet versatile.

I can honestly say this may be the simplest card I have ever created and I love it! Maybe I can learn to create simple after all …

Friends of SUBA Present Retiring Products

Welcome to the April Friends of SUBA Blog Hop. This month we are focusing on Stampin’ Up! Retiring Products. Some of my favorite products are in the current Annual Catalog and you still have time to purchase them. Lucky you! Don’t procrastinate because they are available through May 31 or while supplies last.

You may have arrived from Stampin’ n Crafting with Cheryldiana or you are just starting here with Ginny Harrell @ Celebrate the Journey. If you happen to get off track or lost just scroll down to the bottom and you will see the entire list of participants.

Watercolor Wings is the all-around winner for cardmakers.

My first two cards use the Watercolor Wings stamp. I have used this one set so much I am not sure what I will do without it. This stamp makes beautiful birthday cards, thinking of you cards, sympathy cards, baby cards, thank you cards – Watercolor Wings works for everything.

I created a soft card as a sympathy card and then I created second card with the same layout, but it is bolder and a little more fun. I left it blank, so I can use it for any occasion.

Which one is your favorite? Bold or soft?

Did you notice I also used retiring ink colors? We will be saying so long to Marina Mist and Island Indigo.

Cool Treats is one of those retiring stamp sets that never got much attention.

Cool Treats is the perfect stamp set if you have young children or teenagers. Everyone loves ice cream. For this card I bunched the sweet treats on the left side, cut up the sentiment and added a small strip of DSP. A quick and easy card.

Please note: All DSP retires every year, except this year the Wood Textures DSP is carrying over. Yippee! I love it when Stampin’ Up listens to our suggestions.

If this is the first time that you have come across our SUBA blog hops and are wondering what SUBA stands for – well it stands for “Simply Unique Business Angels”. You can find out more about what our talented friends Louise Sims and Pip Todman are doing, click SU Business Angels. They will love to help with any online business needs. You may sell Stampin’ Up, or make-up, essential oils, or candles. They still have much to offer you.

Please spend some time looking through the Retiring Products today. Some great stamp sets and supplies will be disappearing soon.

Now hop on over to Mikaela’s page and show her some stamping love. If you get off track just click on the links below.

Thanks for stopping by today.

National Craft Month Blog Hop – Getting Crafty

Hey there crafters and stampers! March is National Craft Month. In 1994 the Craft & Hobby Association created the wonderful month we know as craft month. It was designed to help people rediscover and learn about the wonderful world of crafting and all its many benefits.

Stampin’ Up is not just about cards.

#National Craft Month #Get Crafty #stampin' Up #Ginny Harrell

I am joining in with some fellow Stampin’ Up demonstrators in a blog hop that will focus on crafty items you can create with Stampin’ Up supplies. You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog Ginny Harrell @ Celebrate the Journey or Tricia Butts, the person previous to me on the list. If you get off track at any time, don’t worry. Just surf down to the full line up below and follow along from blog to blog..

While I love creating cards I often like to create little boxes, bags, and decorative items.

Today I am sharing these small corkboard bulletin boards. I made these for my friends as Christmas gifts and they loved them. They work well in your kitchen for shopping lists or phone numbers.  I think one in a baby’s room would be real sweet for tracking feedings or growth notes. I used retired paper for the Christmas gifts but decided to update and make them again using current DSP and stamps.

To make these corkboard bulletin boards you start with a pack of three cork trivets from Ikea. Trace around one of the boards on the back of your DSP and hand cut the circle. Use your paper cutter to cut the circle in half. Use Tear & Tape to adhere the DSP to your corkboard. Adhere ribbon or lace to the corkboard and add your stamped images.

I found these hangers at a big box hardware store. They just push into the back of the corkboard.

I love how these turned out. Make sure you hop on to Merit Brown. I am sure she will have something fun to share.
