Hang in There!

Everyone needs encouragement some time or another. I thought these sweet birdies would bring a smile to face of a friend who is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Thankfully he has almost completed his treatments and is doing well.

I created this first card for a Blends class I taught last week.

While we were stamping and chatting one of my students suggested this brilliant change!

I had to make several to put in my stash. They are perfect for a little pick me up.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hang in there!

Color a Little, Color a Lot – Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop

Thanks for stopping by today. This Sunday I am hopping with a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all around the world. You will love seeing the different style of each papercrafter.

Our theme for the hop is BLENDS! Blends are the new, improved alcohol markers that Stampin’ Up! released earlier this fall. Blends color like a dream. If you are an adult coloring book addict or paper crafter you are going to want several of these markers. Heck, just go ahead and order all the blend colors. I know you will adore them as much as I do.

I have two cards to share with you today. One has just a touch of coloring and the other uses every color of Blends minus the browns and grays.

My first card:

This is a center step fold card created with the Birthday Delivery set. That little girl is so cute and sweet. Did you notice the LOVE card? It is from the Petal Garden card package. Using cards that are pre-printed saves time and gives you many options. The ribbon is also colored with the Pool Party Blend marker. How cool is that? You can now make all your white ribbon match your card stock. This ribbon is a hint of something to come in the New Occasions Catalog!

My second card:

This colorful card really pops. For this card I cut the Happy Birthday out using Whisper White.  I cut the words where they join so I had two die cuts. Using the Blends I colored each letter in rainbow order. I layered four black card stock die cuts and then glued the colored Happy Birthday on top. The little bit of black shadow peeking out makes the colors jump right off the card. These are alcohol markers so the paper does not pill up and the colors are really vibrant.I also scored around the edge of the card to add some additional interest, added a few starts and it is complete.

Which one is your favorite?

You can also see some more Blends cards HEREHERE and HERE: These flowers and roses are almost too pretty to put in the mail.

Thanks for taking the time to visit today. I hope your Sunday is colorful and peaceful.

Falling Flowers for a Friend

I have had this lovely set for quite some time …. Not sure why it has taken me so long to ink it up. It makes beautiful cards! I love the leaves and little round bobble things. I’m pretty sure those bobbles will show up on Christmas card someday soon.

I send a lot of cards. Many of my cards are “just because” or “thinking of you”. This one sure fits the bill. The soft colors are so restful. Hopefully it will make someone happy this week.

Again I used the new Blends on this card. Still experimenting J

Thanks for stopping by today. Happy Stamping!

Circle Flap Card – You’ve Got This

A couple of weeks ago one of my downline shared a card sketch with me. (Thanks Jan!) It had a circle on one side and the circle was part of the closure. I love any type of fancy fold or different close on a card. I finally had time to try to make my own….And I got to use my new Blends!

Here is a Pool Party version of the card:

Here is a Calypso Coral version of the card:

Pool Party is my favorite!

Inside of the card:

I really enjoyed trying this design two different color schemes. I think using a square would work just as well. What do you think? More ideas to try!

Have you ordered your Blends yet? What are you waiting for?? They are lots of fun and make your coloring look very professional.

Thanks for stopping by today. Happy Stamping!

When Pigs Fly

This is without a doubt the cutest stamp set in the Annual Catalog. I have made several cards using some of the images, but this is my first flying pig. Isn’t she darling??? She is colored with the new Blends markers. These markers blend and shade like a dream.

This is also the first time I tried the embossing paste. It was super easy to use.  I will have to use it more often. I like the texture it adds to the card. While the embossing paste was still wet I sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds on the clouds. I thought it was like a silver lining. The wings also have Dazzling Diamonds sprinkled on them.

I wanted pink ribbon and didn’t have any so I dyed the Whisper White ribbon with my Melon Mambo re-inker. I love that you can change ribbon colors so easily.

I have no idea who will get this card….I don’t want to waste the cuteness on just anybody!!

Thanks for stopping by today. Happy Stamping!

Color Me Happy – Blends

Stampin’ Up demonstrators have had the joy of using the new Blends markers for the last month. I’m sure you have seen many examples on Pinterest. The Blends are so easy to use; you will be amazed at your new found coloring skills. The Blends give a smooth uniform color on your very first try. Start with one shade of color and add layers of color as desired. When you use one color it is beautiful, add the second layer and you add depth, dimension, and texture.

Markers are sold as single markers or as a combo pack for each color.  If you don’t want to enter all of those product codes, you can enter one (147475) to get all of them at once:

Here is a chart of all the colors.

If you’d like to see all of the individual markers or purchase individual combos, CLICK HERE TO SEE THEM IN MY ONLINE STORE.

I am still practicing but so far I am happy with my results. You can check out my Roses here. I love the yellow one the best!

Here is a note card I created using the Color Me Happy stamp set:

I used the words from Artistically Asian and gold embossed them for a little bling. The tassel is Mini Tassels Assortment.

I loved the way this friendship card turned out. I need to try it in other color combos.
