Rooted in Nature Easel Card

Today I am sharing a Rooted in Nature Thinking of You card that has a different type of easel front. For this card I also used Stitched Seasons Framelits.

To create this card, you will die cut the middle-sized label for the framelits. Stamp the sentiment with Tranquil Tide ink.  Stamp three “small twig branches” on Mint Macaron card stock with Mint Macaron ink. Stamp three of the “fancy” leaves on Powder Pink with Calypso Coral ink. Stamp two “3 leaf” leaves on Tranquil Tide with Tranquil Tide ink. Die cut all the stamped leaves. Die cut one larger leaf from Cajun Craze card stock.

The card base in Cajun Craze cut 5 ½” x 4 ¼”. Cut a piece of Whisper White 5 ¼” x 4”. Cut a piece of Tranquil Tide card stock 6” x 2 ¼”. Cut DSP and 6” x 2”. Adhere DSP to the Tranquil Tide leaving a border on the bottom edge. Score at 2” from the bottom edge and ¼” from the top edge. Fold and crease the ¼’ end and adhere that edge to the back of the Whisper White piece. You will then adhere the Whisper White piece to the card base. This will create your easel. Fold at the 2” score and adhere the label to the 2” area. Now you are ready to adhere all your leaves, bow and embellishments. Fold easel up so you will know where to adhere the large Cajun Craze leaf. Use dimensionals for the leaf. Add other leaves as desired. Add sentiment. The Cajun Craze leaf will then hold your easel in place.

Here is a side view of the Rooted in Nature card that will help you see how this card works.

I created two Colorful Seasons projects to share with you today.

I am always in need of sympathy cards. I like my sympathy cards simple and classic. The wheat image from Colorful Season Bundle seemed perfect for a classic heartfelt card. The wheat is stamped three times with Versamark and heat embossed with copper embossing powder. I added a tiny piece of Tea Room ribbon and the sentiment. Super easy and simple. Copper foil is behind the image layer and just barely peeks out around the edge.

This gorgeous flower is another image from the Colorful Seasons Bundle. I love coloring, so this image called my name. I can see this flower colored in so many ways. Spring, fall, summer…. just change the color to suit the season. Here I used Poppy Parade, one the new (returning) colors in the Stampin’ Up collection. It is such a happy color. I stamped and colored this twice. Then I cut the flowers out, curled them with my bone folder and used a dimensional to pop them on the base image. It gives the flowers a 3D look.

The white background is the Basket Weave Embossing folder. See the pretty lace at the bottom of the card? It is a new edgelit: Delicate Lace. Love all the texture on this card.

Make sure you hop on to Jamie, I am sure she will have some amazing projects to share.
